| ABOUT JAMA |

The Japanese Association of Management Accounting (JAMA), founded in 1991, is the premier academic organization devoted to the study and promotion of knowledge about management accounting. The Association is a voluntary organization of individuals interested in management accounting research and education. With approximately 850 members, JAMA’s members are faculty members at colleges and universities, researchers, professionals, and students. As the academic organization of management accounting, JAMA, through its Executive Committee, is well positioned to provide a unique set of services to its members and to promote the vitality, visibility, and diversity of the discipline. Working at the national and international levels, the Association aims to articulate policy, and implement programs likely to have the broadest possible impact for management accounting now and in the future. |

| ●Editorial Policy |
| International Journal of Accounting and Management publishes research papers that address significant issues in the field of accounting and management. To provide a balanced presentation of articles, the journal solicits contributions from the fields of financial accounting and reporting, management accounting, auditing, taxation, management information systems, financial management and interdisciplinary studies. Research papers should be theoretical based and/or empirical based. Interdisciplinary studies and/or comparative studies of practices among countries are encouraged. |
●Editorial Procedures |
| Manuscripts submitted to the journal will be initially screened by the managing editors, to determine its appropriateness. Those considered inappropriate in totality will be returned to the sender. Only those manuscripts considered appropriate will follow a double blind refereeing process. If necessary, they will be reviewed by an expert in that field. |
●Submission Instructions |

(1) Papers must be in English. (2) Manuscripts should be submitted in triplicate to the Editorial Assistant with corresponding author's complete contact information in English and/or Japanese (including name, address, telephone, and facsimile number, e-mail address, and institutional affiliation). (3) Submission of a paper will be held to imply that it contains original unpublished work and is not being submitted for publication elsewhere. The Editor does not accept responsibility for damage or loss of papers submitted. Once a submitted article is accepted, author(s) will be asked to transfer copyright of the article to the publisher, i.e. the Japanese Association of Management Accounting. This transfer will ensure the widest possible dissemination of information. (4) All papers should be set up to be reprinted on JIS A4 sized paper (21cm x 29.7cm). (5) Manuscripts should be double spaced, and printed on one side of the paper only. Each page of the manuscripts should be clearly printed and should contain around 500 words. (6) All pages should be numbered consequently. Titles and subtitles should be short. Please note that there are page charges for any accepted papers that exceed 15 pages. Additional page will be charged for JPY 10,000 each. (7) The first page of the manuscript should provide the following information: (i) the title; (ii) the name(s) and institutional affiliation(s) of the author(s); (iii) an abstract of not more than 150 words; (iv) up to five keywords. (8) Should any acknowledgements and information on grants received be given in a first footnote, they should not be included in the consecutive numbering of footnotes. (9) Footnotes should be kept to a minimum and numbered consecutively throughout the text with superscript Arabic numerals. (10) Formulae must be numbered consecutively throughout the manuscript against the right-hand margin of the page. (11) The list of references should appear at the end of the main text. It should be listed in alphabetical order by author's last name. References should appear as follows: Note that journal titles should not be abbreviated. For monographs Monden,Y. 1998. Care should be taken that lettering and symbols are of a comparable size. All graphs and diagrams should be referred to as figures, and should be numbered consecutively in the text in Arabic numerals. Tables should be numbered consecutively in the text in Arabic numerals. (13) Any manuscript which does not conform to the above instructions may be returned for the necessary revision. |
